Search National Library of Medicine right from The Doping Journal home page

For the convenience of readers and in addition to DOAJ article search The Doping Journal (DJ) innovated at DJ home page search box for seamless literature research at two major collections by the National Library of Medicine (NLM), PubMed Central and PubMed.

"PubMed Central (PMC) is a digital archive of life sciences journal literature, developed and managed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). With PubMed Central, NLM is taking the lead in preserving and maintaining unrestricted access to the electronic literature, just as it has done for decades with the printed biomedical literature. PubMed Central aims to fill the role of a world class library in the digital age. It is not a journal publisher. NLM believes that giving all users free and unrestricted access to the material in PubMed Central is the best way to ensure the durability and utility of the archive as technology changes over time. PubMed Central follows in the footsteps of other highly successful and useful services that NCBI has developed for the worldwide scientific community...

PubMed is the database of choice, for researchers and clinicians alike, to locate relevant articles and, in many cases, link directly to a publisher's site for the full text." As of July 2004, "PubMed... includes over 14 million citations for biomedical articles back to the 1950's. These citations are from MEDLINE and additional life science journals."

For further details please see NLMs' "About PMC" and "About PubMed" documents. Please note, however, that PMC and PubMed may miss important info from credible scholar journals, especially from new serials.

It is therefore important to search other biomedical databases, too. To display latest journal information please see NLM Locatorplus and search Locatorplus search engine. Another "must search" resource is a Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) articles' search engine, available at DJ search DOAJ articles web page, or at DJ home page.
